This is an educational publication, not legal advice and not a substitute for an attorney. The author is not an attorney. Downloading does not create an attorney-client relationship, and no information shared with the publisher is protected by attorney-client privilege. The procedures the author has followed most closely are in Utah. Family law is state law and varies significantly; an attorney licensed in your state is the only person who can tell you what applies. Relocation is its own body of law and is not covered here.
If there is domestic violence in your situation, an active protective order, coercive control, or if keeping records or pursuing anything would put you at risk, work with someone trained in safety planning before you start. Enforcement and modification can renew contact with the other parent.
